This is a Max4Live MIDI device to quickly build complex rhythmic note patterns starting from basic chords.

It provides detailed control over

• the note pattern
• velocity modulation
• triggers (which steps are played and which are muted)

as well as extensive mutation and controlled randomisation functionality such as

• shift the entire sequence left/right (with possibility to chose whether to shift everything or just the notes, or the steps etc.)
• "rotate" the note pattern up or down, for more "happy accidents"
• generate random note patterns with the possibility of specifying the probability of consecutive notes, or random velocity modulation patterns based on a desired modulation range

One of the advantages of the devices is that it makes it super easy to tweak (or completely change) the sequence while working on a song, whereas that would be time consuming in the piano roll itself.

Once happy with a sequence however, it's easy to record the MIDI as a new clip for further refinement and editing, if needed!
